HeyReader, Is your website secretly sabotaging your bag? I’ve reviewed maybe a hundred websites (definitely 50+) at this point for seasoned entrepreneurs and side hustlers and I noticed the same expensive "oopsies!" over and over again. Today, I’m sharing the top 3 website copy mistakes that are silently killing your conversions (and what to do instead). MISTAKE #1: FOCUSING ON FEATURES INSTEAD OF TRANSFORMATIONMost website copy reads like a resume: “I do this, I offer that, I’m certified in XYZ.” But here’s the harsh truth: your potential clients don’t care about your features, certifications, or even your process (not yet anyway)… they care about the TRANSFORMATION you can provide. Instead of: “I offer a 6-week coaching program with weekly calls and a private Slack channel.” Try: “In just 6 weeks, you’ll go from feeling overwhelmed by your business to having clear systems that run like clockwork—even when you’re juggling your 9-5 and family responsibilities.” See the difference? One lists what you get, the other paints a picture of the transformation. MISTAKE #2: FAILING THE “SO WHAT?” TESTEvery single line of copy on your website should pass the “So What?” test. If your reader can look at any sentence and think “So what? Why does this matter to me?” – that copy needs to be reworked. For example: ❌ “I’ve been in business for 5 years and have a certification in XYZ.” So what? How does this help ME? ✅ “5 years of experience and umpteenth certifications later means you’ll get proven strategies that have already helped 100+ business owners just like you increase their sales by 30% while working fewer hours.” The first statement is about YOU. The second ties your experience directly to the reader’s desired outcome. MISTAKE #3: MAKING VISITORS WORK TOO HARDYour website visitors shouldn’t need Waze to figure out what you offer or how to work with you. If they have to click around searching for information or scroll forever to find your pricing, they’ll bounce. The solution? Clear, direct CTAs and a streamlined user experience. Your visitors should know on page one (and every page after that): 🧠 What you offer 🧠 Who it’s for 🧠 How it helps them 🧠 What to do next All within seconds. #NotBeingDramatic WANT TO FIX THESE MISTAKES (WITHOUT SPENDING WEEKS REWRITING YOUR WEBSITE)?I’ve developed a system that helps busy entrepreneurs create high-converting (low-procrasti-cleaning) website copy that you're proud to put EVERYWHERE... in a fraction of the time it typically takes. And it is coming soon, like weeks away soon, and I’d love to give you early access (hint hint: and discounts + sick bonuses + free workshops) when it launches. In the meantime, I’ll be here. Fighting with my Asana. And sweet talking ThriveCart (LOL) Talk soon, P.S. Which of these website copy mistakes resonated with you the most? Hit reply and let me know — I Christina Torres

Reader... So here’s the deal – I’m considering running a monthly Stay Ready Workshop series that covers everything from: Quick Copy That Converts (like the one I just did) Quick Market Research That Validates $$$ Offers Quick Content Plans That Save You Time (and hair) Quick DIY Brand Voice & Vibe Generator And more “Quick ___ That ___” goodness I really love nerding out about this stuff so it's a no brainer for me. But before I go all in, I want to make sure this is something y’all actually...
Reader? Have you ever tried defining your brand voice and ended up with some snooze-worthy adjectives like “professional,” “warm,” or “authentic”? That’s about as helpful as your aunty telling you to “just be yourself” before the blind date she set you up with. THANKS TITI, but that doesn’t tell me what to say when they ask me about my hobbies or how many kids I want. (do people still have those....?) Reader, fellow do-it-all-er! Remember filling out your own college financial aid forms because your parents were working double shifts or simply didn’t know where to start? Or advocating for abuela at doctor's appointments because the system wasn't built for her? Translating not just language, but entire worlds of institutional barriers nobody prepared your family for? That unpaid labor wasn’t just about tech support – it was about surviving systems designed to exclude. Banking forms your...
